November 2021 cooking two-class series

Registration is now open for the November cooking class series. The cost to attend the two-class series is $20. Registration closes at 10 a.m. on Oct. 28.

November classes will focus on fall favorites like pears and sweet potatoes. These delicious and affordable foods are perfect when giving thanks and celebrating with friends and family.

Nov. 3 (Noon – 12:45 p.m.): Positively Perfect Pears

There are approximately 100 different varieties of this sweet, bell-shaped fruit that have been enjoyed either soft or crisp since ancient times. They are available all year and are not only delicious, but offer many health benefits backed by science and may even help you lose weight.

Nov. 10 (Noon – 12:45 p.m.): Simple and Savory Sweet Potatoes

Often confused with yams, sweet potatoes are a nutritious and delicious root vegetable that is considered a superfood due to its anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic and anti-cancer properties. Sweet potatoes are a good source of magnesium which can help you manage stress, anxiety and depression.

New class series each month

MHealthy will host a different cooking class series each month. Registration will open a few weeks before the first class date.

MHealthy cooking classes support the growing field of culinary medicine, which explores the links between food and health, applying the foundations of nutritional science side-by-side with traditional medical interventions in clinical care.
