You’re invited: Clinical Simulation Center Brown Bag series event
All Michigan Medicine faculty and staff are invited to attend the next installment of the Clinical Simulation Center Brown Bag series.
The series is designed to promote collaboration and best practices in simulation-based education and research and will allow faculty, staff and learners the opportunity to learn and share best practices in simulation-based education and assessment.
The next virtual event will be held at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 29 via Zoom.
Torrey A. Laack, M.D., chair of SSH Directors Section will present “The impact of stress on performance, memory, and the implications for experiential learning.”
The clinical practice of medicine often involves stressors and interruptions that negatively impact performance. However, increased stress can also enhance some memory formation which may enhance learning.
During this presentation, there will be a discussion on what is known about the impact of stress on performance and memory with a focus on the implications this has for using stress during experiential learning.
