Stepping-In for Respect workshop for Michigan Medicine employees

September 2, 2021  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

The latest addition to the Michigan Medicine core values — inclusion — reinforces the organization’s commitment to create an environment where every individual has a sense of belonging, a voice that is heard, and the opportunity to achieve and thrive.

Stepping-In for Respect is a bystander intervention training intended to cultivate a culture of respect and inclusion that is aligned with our core values.

This optional training, provided by Organizational Learning specifically for Michigan Medicine, focuses on relationships amongst colleagues. It is another tool in your tool box for addressing behaviors of disrespect, whether you are witnessing it or experiencing it firsthand, and provides guidance to be able to have open and honest conversations with peers. When we practice the same values, together we can build trust, improve our culture and advance health to serve Michigan and the world.

Any Michigan Medicine leader, faculty or staff member can participate in the workshop. More information about the program and courses available can be found on the Michigan Medicine Human Resources website.
