Due to a recent increase in pediatric capacity, the birth surge accommodation strategy is moving into its fourth phase.

Units that are impacted in C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital, as well as some adult patient units from University Hospital and the Frankel Cardiovascular Center that are located in the children’s and women’s hospitals, have been notified of updated adjustments that go into effect today, Sept. 28.

Hospital leadership will continually assess the situation and will keep teams updated if additional changes need to be made. Everyone is thanked in advance for their support and partnership in these adjustments as Michigan Medicine continues to provide safe, reliable care to each patient.
