FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Tony Shopinski is a Detroit-based painter, printmaker and raku potter. He taught art and animation in a Detroit elementary school for nearly 30 years and produced a daily student TV news broadcast.
The works in an exhibit at Michigan Medicine are both large and small paintings in oil. Some are combined with relief prints and colored sand. The miniature paintings come from studies of an insect collection.
Memories of walking through the Belle Isle woods contributed to their themes.
