Description

If all you know about her is A Raisin in the Sun, then you don’t know Lorraine Hansberry. An outspoken artist ahead of her time, the first Black woman to have a play produced on Broadway. A fearless Civil Rights activist. A lesbian who struggled to voice her truth. A visionary whose untimely death at 34 left a void that still echoes a half-century later. This absorbing 2017 documentary (originally televised on PBS’ American Masters series) is available to stream free to the U-M community on the Kanopy website (accessible with your Level One password) or on the PBS website .

This discussion is open to all, but please register here to receive the Zoom link.
