‘Wave Journeys’ by Mark Piotrowski on display at University Hospital

July 16, 2021  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Mark Piotrowski’s colorful and vibrant pieces of his Wave Journeys series are constructed out of hand cut shaped aluminum, sign foam and enamel paints.

They began as colored pencil drawings that he made during a time with some health issues, symbolizing the ups and downs of everyday events.

The highs and lows are not separate from each other, but rather are all connected. The winding, under- and overlapping bands of color are ongoing waves that cycle around and through each other, without beginning or end.

In addition to working in the studio, Piotrowski is also busy with his mural and design company, MARKed ARTs in Bay City, Michigan.

Check out his work for yourself:

Where: Gifts of Art Gallery – University Hospital Main Lobby, Floor 1.

When: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. daily through Aug. 27
