Put them on the podium: Who deserves a gold medal in your area?
The Summer Olympics in Tokyo are in full swing, where some of the world’s most impressive athletes have congregated to show off their skills.
And while their talents are put on display every four years (give or take a year, in case of a pandemic), Michigan Medicine faculty, staff and learners put their world-class talents on display each and every day. Indeed, whether in the lab, classroom or clinic, your colleagues work to make the organization a success.
Headlines wants to know which of these coworkers stand out to you — which ones deserve a gold medal for what they do.
It could be someone who excels in an individual discipline or those who lift their teammates up to new heights.
Maybe it’s a staff member who recently won an award, such as Johann E. Gudjonsson, M.D., Ph.D., who received a 2021 Research Achievement Award from the American Skin Association. Or perhaps it’s just someone who shows up every day and exhibits the organization’s core values of caring, inclusion, integrity, innovation or teamwork.
And just like in the Olympics, both individuals and teams can win a gold medal — so feel free to nominate an entire group.
No matter who you choose, nominating them is easy!
All you have to do is log in to the Michigan Medicine Recognition website and select “Recognize” in the top right corner. Then choose your colleague(s), select “Gold Medal” and describe why they earned the distinction.
Stay tuned to Headlines next week to see if your nominee is featured in an upcoming story.
Thanks for all you do and good luck to everyone going for gold at Michigan Medicine!
