Deadline: Schedule your Box to Dropbox Migration by Friday!
It’s last call — time to get your move on. Michigan Medicine’s Box to Dropbox migration window closes this Friday, July 30! If you have files or folders in your U-M Box account, visit the ITS Self-Service Migration page. There you can schedule a migration date, or request a Box extension if you need more time. If you do not take action by Friday your Box account will be deactivated.
What you need to do:
- Review the Self-Service Migration page for information and step-by-step instructions on what to expect before, during, and after your migration.
- Schedule a day to migrate your U-M Box data, request an extension, or delete your U-M Box account through the Self-Service Migration page.
- Communicate with collaborators to inform them about your scheduled migration date. A reminder that internal collaborator permissions will migrate, but external permissions will not.
Available Migration Dates
A clarification that your Box migration needs to be scheduled by Friday, July 30, but it can occur after July 30. Most available migration dates are between August – November. Once your migration date is scheduled, your Box account will remain active until your migration is complete. Most migrations are completed within 72 hours of your migration date, and you will receive email confirmation letting you know the process is done.
In the event that your U-M Box account is deactivated and you need to regain access, simply log in to the ITS Self-Service Migration tool through the Self-Service Migration page and reactivate your account. You will have 30 days to schedule your account migration before your account is deactivated again.
We greatly appreciate your support to move Box data to Dropbox in a timely manner. This process is a major transition that disrupts our entire organization. The sooner we are out of Box, the greater our focus can be on normalizing our work in Dropbox.
