Nurse Horst & Dr. Henson by Kate Lebowsky

Kate Lebowsky’s latest body of work features everyday heroes of the pandemic — medical professionals, food providers, firefighters, security personnel and more.

Having worked in fiber art for over 35 years, for the last 18 Lebowsky has focused on crocheting and knitting plush dolls. Her crocheted dolls made of acrylic yarn are designed to be played with, including clothing you can change. Doll stands are included with purchase to display the pieces in any environment, from waiting in a child’s room for the right time for play, to showing off a fiber version of oneself on an office shelf.

Portrait dolls are available for purchase.

Check out her work for yourself:

Where: Gifts of Art Gallery – Taubman Health Center North Lobby, Floor 1.

When: 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily through Aug. 27
