Stay safe by using marked crosswalks

The safety of faculty, staff and patients is a top priority. That’s why all employees are asked to be diligent in following pedestrian and traffic rules across the medical campus, including only crossing streets at designated crosswalks.

While there is a natural temptation to take shorter routes, the regulations are in place to ensure you — along with patients and families traveling to and from the academic medical center — are kept out of harm’s way.

There are multiple marked crosswalks along Fuller Road with pedestrian-activated flashing signals. The overhead signals produce a strobe-like yellow light to alert drivers to the presence of pedestrians, and provide pedestrians and drivers with an extra level of security.

Here’s what you need to know:

If you park in lot M78 (Fuller Pool Lot), use the marked crosswalks to the east or west of the lot. To the east, push the button to activate the flashing lights and beacons OR at the intersection, push the button to activate the pedestrian crossing signal.

  • Do not cross the street at any point other than the marked crosswalk.
  • Do not jaywalk toward the hospital or straight to your car as it places you and drivers around you in danger.

Fuller Road is a very busy roadway and we are committed to keeping our staff and drivers as safe as possible. Thank you for your cooperation!
