Please be advised that critical construction repair projects are planned to begin at P3 (Taubman) and P4 (Simpson) parking structures on Thursday, May 13.

All drivers are asked to please observe signage and drive cautiously within the structures while these projects are underway.

Here’s what you need to know:

P3 (Taubman) critical structural repairs

This project includes floor, ceiling, beam, column and wall repairs, expansion joint replacement and repairs, as well as traffic topping, sealants and striping.

Work will be phased within the structure and will start on the ramps at Levels 3 and 3.5.

  • Weekdays: Approximately 80 parking spaces will be closed continuously, with work occurring between the hours of 3 p.m. and 11 p.m.
  • Weekends (3 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday): Up to 120 spaces will be closed for traffic topping and sealant work.

Signage will be posted notifying facility users of closure areas and adjusted traffic flow around repair areas. Project duration is approximately 20 weeks.

P4 (Simpson) critical concrete and waterproofing repairs

This project includes floor, ceiling, beam, column and wall repairs, traffic topping, sealants and striping.

Repair work is primarily focused in the patient/visitor area on the west side of the structure.

  • Weekdays: For the first two phases of work, up to 60 patient/visitor spaces will be closed continuously. Space closures will occur on the ground level (where patients/visitors enter at E. Hospital Drive) and in the basement level below. In later phases, up to 30 patient/visitor spaces will be closed. Spot repairs will also occur within staff parking areas, with more limited space closures.
  • Weekends (Friday afternoon through 5 a.m. Monday): Traffic topping and sealant work will occur on weekends. Concrete repairs will also be made at the structure’s north entry over a couple of scheduled weekends. Up to 60 patient/visitor spaces will be closed.

Signage will be posted notifying facility users of closure areas and adjusted traffic flow around repair areas. Project duration is approximately 20 weeks.

Thank you for your cooperation.
