National Hospital Week celebrates Michigan Medicine’s health care heroes
This week, Michigan Medicine is recognizing and celebrating all of its health care heroes as part of National Hospital Week 2021.
The annual event, which this year is celebrated May 9-15 and sponsored by the American Hospital Association, highlights the hospitals, health systems and all of the people contributing to keeping patients and the community healthy.
Now more than ever, this important week gives an opportunity to celebrate Michigan Medicine teams and the innovative ways they are supporting the health care needs of the community we serve.
“For everyone who supports our hospitals and health system, we honor you and the work you do every day. The pandemic and the last 14 months reminds us how critically important our hospital and health care workers are to our communities,” said David Miller, M.D., M.P.H., president of the U-M Health System. “In the face of crisis, our care delivery remained steadfast and strong, through multiple waves of uncertainty and challenge. I can’t express enough my gratitude and appreciation for everyone who contributes to our mission of advancing health for Michigan and the world.”
Celebrate with these activities
Michigan Medicine faculty, staff and learners are invited to participate in a virtual Employee Appreciation Week, beginning today through Friday, with special programs designed to allow employees to take a moment of self-care with wellness programming by MHealthy, professional development and growth with Organizational Learning, musical concerts with Gifts of Art and more available.
