Help celebrate graduating house officers at Michigan Medicine!

Across Michigan Medicine, house officers are set to complete their residency or fellowship programs and graduate to the next phase of their careers. For the second straight year, the usual in-person gatherings for graduating house officers will be replaced with a virtual celebration for all Michigan Medicine programs through the #MichMedGrad campaign.

Colleagues, family and friends can add #MichMedGrad to their tweets and public Instagram posts to share congratulations and advice, and have these messages appear on a special website: Messages and photos can also be posted directly to the site.

For the 400 house officer graduates in nearly 100 programs who would like to share their celebrations with the Michigan Medicine community, the organization has created commemorative social media graphics.

“These last 15 months have been uniquely challenging for you and your educational pursuits, yet you rose to the occasion and all that you did made all of us in the University of Michigan better, stronger and more resilient,” said Marschall Runge, M.D., Ph.D., the executive vice president of medical affairs for U-M, CEO of Michigan Medicine and dean of the Medical School, to the graduating house officers. “Your experiences have fostered professional and personal growth that prepared you to succeed in the next exciting phase of your career.”
