Expect delays: Ann Arbor road closures related to streetscape improvements

Please be advised of ongoing road work and closures around the Ann Arbor area.

Plan ahead and expect delays and alert patients if they will be traveling in the area. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Beginning today, Ann Street is scheduled to be closed between First Street and Ashley Street to allow for streetscape improvements.
    • Vehicles traveling westbound on Ann Street will be detoured north on Ashley Street, west on Miller Avenue, south on First Street back to Ann Street.
    • Vehicles traveling eastbound will be detoured south on First Street, east on Huron Street, north on Ashley Street back to Ann Street.
    • Local traffic will be maintained on Ann Street and local businesses will remain open and accessible.
    • Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on one side of the street.
    • Work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 12.
  • Beginning today, Ashley Street and Liberty Street are also anticipated to be closed leading up to the intersection of Ashley and Liberty to allow for streetscape improvements.
    • Vehicles traveling northbound on Ashley Street will be detoured east on William Street, then north on Fourth Avenue and west on Huron Street back to Ashley Street.
    • Vehicles traveling eastbound on Liberty Street will be detoured south on First Street, east on William Street, north on Fourth Avenue back to Liberty Street.
    • Vehicles traveling westbound on Liberty Street will detoured north on Fourth Avenue, west on Huron Street, south on First Street back to Liberty.
    • Local traffic will be maintained on Ashley and Liberty and local businesses will remain open and accessible.
    • Pedestrian access will be maintained on one side of the street.
    • Work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, and the intersection reopened to westbound vehicle traffic on Liberty and northbound vehicle traffic on Ashley.
    • Eastbound vehicle traffic on Liberty is expected to remain closed until Monday, May 31.
