Bipartisan chronic disease management legislation reintroduced

On Wednesday, April 28, Sens. John Thune (R-SD) and Tom Carper (D-DE) reintroduced bipartisan legislation to allow high-deductible health plans associated with health savings accounts (HDHP-HSAs) the flexibility to cover a broad range of chronic disease management services for beneficiaries prior to meeting the plan deductible.

This bill builds upon a popular federal rule that permits HSA-HDHPs to cover a specific list of chronic disease services on a pre-deductible basis.
