‘Backyard Escape’ fiber arts exhibit on display at Michigan Medicine

May 6, 2021  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Founded in 1999, Sacred Threads is a non-profit organization that organizes fiber art exhibitions exploring the subjects of spirituality, joy, inspiration, sister/brotherhood, grief, hope and healing.

For an exhibition currently on display at Michigan Medicine, Sacred Threads invited artists to create works with a personal sense of place. The Backyard Escape artists have created places of sanctuary for solace and stillness, viewed through the lens of changing seasons, changing weather and personal connection. These special places include gardens, backyards, woodlands, meadows, rivers, ponds, and many familiar animals that share those spaces.
