Week in Review: New branding campaign, employee reading list — and more!
Whew, this was quite the week at Headlines. There were so many featured stories, it would’ve been easy for one to slip past you — from the organization launching a new branding campaign to the first-ever employee reading list to a massive “thank you” project being run by U-M undergraduates.

Michigan Medicine launches new branding campaign
For the first time in more than six years, the organization has a major brand campaign in place. Michigan Answers is designed to celebrate all who make Michigan Medicine shine in patient care, education and research. Non-fiction, fiction, self-help, inspirational … employees celebrated Reading Month by recommending books in nearly every genre. Headlines compiled those suggestions into an easily downloadable PDF that you can find here (and be sure to vote on what the next list should be!).
U-M undergrads issue challenge to thank your Michigan Medicine colleagues: 10 days, 1,000 notes of gratitude
While thank you notes have poured in over the past 13 months to Michigan Medicine personnel, the single largest gratitude campaign is just now getting underway. Play your part in helping U-M undergraduate students collect 1,000 messages that will become part of a massive installation in the courtyard of University Hospital! Click here to learn how.
Clear masks help collect providers, patients
While masks help keep the community safe during COVID-19, they also render interactions inaccessible for those who depend on lip-reading and facial expressions in order to communicate. With that in mind, team members across Michigan Medicine have begun using clear masks that allow patients to see their mouths. Check out this tremendous story of inclusion.
Vaccine team joins together to protect the community
So much was unknown in 2020, from when a COVID-19 vaccine would get approved to how it would be distributed. But despite those challenges, a group of colleagues joined forces to create a vaccination plan that has helped inoculate thousands of team members and patients.
