With the third surge of the COVID-19 pandemic hitting the state and Michigan Medicine so hard, health system leadership agreed to provide a video update.

Please take time to view this message above, which includes updates from David Miller, M.D.; Tony Denton; Jeff Desmond, M.D.; Nancy May, D.N.P., RN-BC, NEA-BC; Dana Habers; and Dee Hunt, M.S.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the front-line workers and team members. Everyone who contributes to our patient care is working so hard, and the teamwork has been amazing,” said Marschall S. Runge, M.D., Ph.D., in an email message to introduce the video. “I know many of you are exhausted but there is reason for hope. Higher numbers of Michiganders are getting vaccinated, and we are finally seeing a plateau in inpatient volume of COVID-19 patients.

“Please know that your heroic efforts are recognized and appreciated on a daily basis. Thank you all so much.”
