Share your voice: Faculty and staff engagement survey now available

March 15, 2021  //  FOUND IN: Our Employees,

The Vital Voices 2021 Faculty and Staff Engagement Survey officially launched this morning to Michigan Medicine faculty and staff. The survey will remain open through Friday, March 26.

The survey will give faculty and staff the opportunity to share their feedback with leadership on a variety of topics including communication, fairness, teamwork, safety and more.

This year marks the first time both surveys will be conducted at the same time using the third party vendor, Press Ganey. All responses will be kept confidential through Press Ganey and will not be accessible to anyone within Michigan Medicine.

“Your honest and confidential responses can and will lead to improvements benefitting you, your coworkers and our patients and their families,” said Deloris Hunt, chief human resources officer at Michigan Medicine.

The two separate surveys — one version for faculty and one version for staff — contain questions based on key priorities for the respective survey population. Both versions also include Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (or DEI)-focused questions to assess progress toward this key institutional priority and the Culture of Safety survey.

“Adding DEI and Culture of Safety questions to the annual engagement survey allow us to streamline our multiple organizationwide surveys into one,” said Phillip Lipka, employee engagement program manager. “This will provide substantial data to our leaders that will help shape the future of our organization.”

Nursing staff will receive additional nursing excellence questions.

In total, the survey will take 10 to 15 minutes to complete and can be done on a desktop/laptop or mobile phone.
