Michigan Medicine recognizes Patient Safety Awareness Week
This week, Michigan Medicine joins health care systems across the country in recognizing Patient Safety Awareness Week.
While patient safety is a top priority throughout the year, this week provides an opportunity to refresh our focus on HRO skills and renew our dedication to creating and maintaining a culture of safety for all.
“This year, as we can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel in the fight against COVID-19, we have a unique opportunity to view patient safety through the lens of a public health crisis,” said David C. Miller, M.D., M.P.H., president of the U-M Health System.
That makes this week a great time to review high reliability principles and continue practicing universal skills. The high reliability webpage has tip sheets to help refresh your understanding and further incorporate these skills into your daily work.
