Making a Difference: Teamwork
Employees across Michigan Medicine continue to make a difference and inspire colleagues through their hard work and dedication on a daily basis. Their commitment to demonstrating the organization’s core values is evident in the hundreds of Making a Difference awards submitted each month.
Each month, Headlines features a set of randomly selected submissions from the Making a Difference awards program that highlight our employees.
This month, the core value of focus is TEAMWORK.
We will work together with a shared purpose rooted in equity and fairness where diversity is celebrated, respected and valued.
It’s also National Recognition Month! Recognizing the contributions employees make to the organization helps the team to become more motivated, drives better teamwork and gives each individual a sense that they are an integral part of achieving organizational goals. Take a moment this month to show appreciation to a colleague.
The Making a Difference program is one way to do just that. The program aligns recognition with the core values of caring, integrity, innovation, inclusion and teamwork — and it’s easy and instantaneous with the Michigan Medicine recognition site.
Here are this month’s teamwork submissions:
Diane Boomer, Toni Chauncye, Ann McDermott and Ryan Vaughan, Livonia Clinic
This team is always working together to make sure we provide excellent patient care. They also demonstrate a willingness to go the extra mile. I just wanted to say thank you to this outstanding team demonstrating caring and integrity daily!
Kari Delvecchio and Brandi Hess, infusion, Rogel Cancer Center
Kari and Brandi never hesitate to come to the Ravitz Infusion area to help with IV placement. They always arrive with a smile and they are both such a tremendous asset to the Cancer Center team! Thank you, ladies, for all you do!
Larisa Czabaniuk, Stephanie Evilsizer, Holly Holmes and Natalie Nowak, opthalmology and visual science
Thank you for everything you do to keep things flowing smoothly and efficiently — from procurement details to timekeeping, concur reports and more. Without you, we would be lost!
Daniel Ellman and Jennifer Williams, Department of Communication
Thanks to Daniel and Jennifer for teaming up with Nurse Recruitment and Retention, putting time and effort into helping us promote Nursing at Michigan in multiple formats starting with the DAISY Awards and continuing on. Your help is appreciated!
Ashley Godard, Debra Hose, Breanna Minges and Susan Roxbury, WAA Radiology
This group did an incredible job recently, when technical issues caused us to have to unexpectedly reschedule many patients. They worked together to pull it off. Thank you!
Nicole Banta, Anita Horn, Erika Knapp, Carlotta Podworski-Korson and Chia Poplawski, ambulatory pharmacy
This team should be commended for taking on the tasks involved in being a superuser for our infusion pharmacy group with BD IV prep. Your teamwork, diligence, attention to detail, commitment and knowledge are assets to our area’s ability to implement this new medication management system. We look forward to the instruction and guidance you will provide to our team!
