March is National Nutrition Month! Launched this month, Ambulatory Care Nutrition Services debuted a new lineup of almost 40 group video visit nutrition classes, meeting a wide range of interests and educational needs.

Classes, instructed by registered dietitian nutritionists, are open to all patients and employees through the end of September. Class size is limited to eight participants, so be sure to sign up early!

All courses are identified as for the adult population, pediatric population or for both.

Courses are single course offerings unless otherwise specified. Several classes, like “Healthy Tips for Cancer Survivors” and “Picky Eaters Anonymous,” are offered as a series.

A nutrition visit with a registered dietitian is a covered service for approximately 95% of patients. For those whose insurance may not cover the charge of a class, the out of pocket cost will be $14-$22.

Insurance billing guidelines allow patients to sign up for one class per day, but they’re allowed to sign up for as many classes as they wish in a week, month or year, as well as for multi-session classes. Patients may retake a single or multi session class as many times as needed.
