Michigan Medicine helping county vaccinate elementary school workers

February 24, 2021  //  FOUND IN: News

Michigan Medicine is supporting the Washtenaw County Health Department in vaccinating local school employees against COVID-19. On Saturday, Feb. 27, a clinic at Michigan Stadium — along with others at two IHA locations — aims to vaccinate approximately 1,200 elementary school educators.

The health department is providing the vaccine out of this week’s allocations from the state, and is working directly with local schools and districts to connect their staff to the appropriate partner for registration. The clinics are open by appointment only.

The Michigan Medicine COVID-19 Vaccine & Therapeutics Taskforce will continue to partner proactively with and engage requests from County Health Departments to support their vaccination efforts, while also administering the vaccine allocation we receive directly from the state to eligible Michigan Medicine patients and health care workers, in alignment with state guidelines.
