Watercolors by Angelis Jackowski on display at Rogel Cancer Center

Angelis Jackowski is an award-winning watercolorist and photographer from Ann Arbor.

Her favorite subjects are tropical and northern arboreal wildflowers that she often presents monumentally in vivid color and deep texture. The larger-than-life scale of her flowers allows the viewer to more fully enter into the color, shape and textures for an enhanced visual experience.

Jackowski’s goal is to portray the divinely-inspired beauty and majesty of the natural world as an antidote to the strife and discord of the synthetic world. She prefers to use watercolor in a non-traditional way, opting for rich opacity instead of wispy transparent washes.

Her work is currently on display at Michigan Medicine. Check it out for yourself:

Where: Gifts of Art Gallery – Rogel Cancer Center, Level 1.

When: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday-Friday through March 5.
