MHealthy’s cooking classes have gone virtual! Now you can learn how to prepare healthy and delicious dishes from the comfort of your own kitchen.

Expert chefs share tips on how to save time and cut costs while teaching you how to create tasty dishes using vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts, fish, low-fat dairy, lean meat and beneficial fats.

February 2021 Cooking Class Series

Registration is open now through Jan. 28 for February Cooking Class Series, “Happy Heart Month.” The cost to attend all three classes is $30.

February is American Heart Month. This series will focus on cooking delicious, heart healthy foods that can help to reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease:

  • Feb. 3, Go for Greens: Learn to prepare dishes that include dark green veggies like broccoli, kale and spinach. These pack a mighty punch of nutrients that strengthen your heart and battle many health issues.
  • Feb. 10, Love Chocolate: YES! It’s true – dark chocolate has been shown to help reduce blood pressure, improve insulin sensitivity, reduce the risk of heart disease and decrease cognitive decline.
  • Feb. 17, Fish is Fabulous: Fish has been shown to be great for your joints, brain, skin, immune system and heart. Learn to create tasty dishes loaded with muscle building protein and rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

New cooking class series each month

MHealthy plans to host a different cooking class series each month. Registration will open a few weeks before the first class date.

These classes support the growing field of culinary medicine, which explores the links between food and health, applying the foundations of nutritional science side-by-side with traditional medical interventions in clinical care.
