‘The Placebo Effect’ paintings on display at University Hospital

December 7, 2020  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Mike and Mark Kersey are identical twin brothers working under the pseudonym Mr. Atomic. They paint individually but freely exchange feedback.

The foundation for most of their vibrant work is pop-culture, and their unique and unified creative process results in an original style they call narrative pop surrealism.

Subjects in paintings are depicted narratively and infused with clues left for the viewer. Quirky humor mixed with artistic ability has elevated Mr. Atomic to an iconic status in their hometown of Toledo, Ohio and beyond. Like a placebo, Mr. Atomic paintings are absorbing and transport the viewer into a more cerebral state of mind.

If you are at the academic medical center, check out their work for yourself!
