The Department of Psychiatry recently released a toolkit to help health care providers better handle patients who come to them with mental health concerns during COVID-19.

The COVID-19 Mental Health Toolkit for Providers was developed to assist health care providers as they navigate increased distress among their patients. Among the distress may be elder abuse, child abuse, sleep difficulties, substance abuse and traumatic stress reactions.

Al of those have seen numbers rise during the pandemic.

The toolkit was created by a team of interdisciplinary mental health professionals who collaborated in partnership with providers from primary care and pediatrics.
