Keep our community warm this winter
The cold months ahead will bring challenges for many area families, including the need for warm clothing. In years past, Michigan Medicine has partnered with area schools and community organizations to host a new and gently used winter clothing donation drive.
This year, the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, East Ann Arbor Health Center, Michigan Institute for Clinical & Health Research, Michigan Institute for Healthcare Policy & Innovation, The Michigan Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons, Emerson School and House by the Side of the Road are all working together to create awareness and support for a slightly different kind of donation drive.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, donations are being requested this year in the form of new clothing purchased from a wish list on Amazon.com. In addition to clothing items for adults and children, donors can select to purchase diapers and wipes for families in need.
People wishing to donate without ordering through Amazon can make direct financial contributions to House by the Side of the Road and reference the 2020 Winter Clothing Drive.
Donations for the clothing drive are being accepted through Wednesday, Nov. 25.
