Bill Quasney, father of Mike Quasney, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Division of Pediatric Critical Medicine, wanted to honor his late wife, Marilynn Quasney.

Bill and Marilynn met in high school and shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. At the time of their marriage, Marilynn was in nursing school, but moved to Arizona for Bill’s first military assignment with the Air Force.

Because of that, Bill chose to honor Marilynn’s dream to become a nurse and their personal experiences with nursing professionals by giving a gift recognizing nursing excellence.

This generous endowment — the Marilynn Quasney Endowment for Nurse Practitioners in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine — was celebrated on Zoom. It is designed to support critical education, research and professional development for nurse practitioners in pediatric critical care medicine each year.
