The weather has cooled down, but the incredible work being performed by Michigan Medicine faculty and staff is just heating up.
For instance, the Department of Infection Prevention & Epidemiology is dedicated to keeping patients and colleagues safe during COVID-19; team members recently donated enough food and funds to provide 108,000 meals to neighbors in need; faculty and staff from across the organization are in the midst of important quality improvement efforts; and valuations are now available that will keep staff members growing and moving forward in their careers.

Meet Michigan Medicine: Infection Prevention & Epidemiology
Infection Prevention & Epidemiology is a group of about 20 staff members who have taken center stage during the COVID-19 pandemic. From ensuring the organization has the most up-to-date information and appropriate personal protective equipment to providing clear protocols for effectively cleaning and disinfecting, learn more about this vitally important work that keeps people safe.
Food drive yields more than 108,000 meals for neighbors in need
Over the past month, faculty, staff and community members have stepped up in a major way to help those facing food insecurity. Between monetary donations and food contributions, this year’s food drive to benefit Food Gatherers will provide more than 108,000 meals to those who need it the most. A celebration unlike any other: Quality Month kicks off at Michigan Medicine
It’s October, which every year at Michigan Medicine is designated as Quality Month — and this year is no different. While social distancing limitations will move the celebration online, there will still be plenty of chances to honor quality and safety improvement work taking place across the organization. Encouraging ‘year-round collaboration’: FY21 performance valuations now available
Introduced in FY19, the performance valuation is designed to help staff members and leaders collaborate year-round and provides a framework for career growth. This year, feedback from those who utilize the valuation has been taken into account, meaning the process is shorter and more user-friendly than ever before.
