This week proclaimed Respiratory Care Week in Michigan

October 26, 2020  //  FOUND IN: Our Employees

Respiratory care practitioners are well-educated and highly-trained health professionals committed to providing the highest quality patient care in all arenas of health care, including the emergency room, critical care units, medical and surgical units, diagnostics, skilled nursing facilities and home health care.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, respiratory care practitioners have played a critical role on the frontlines in caring for patients, including assessing blood gases, assisting with intubations and specializing in ventilator management — all of which has often exposed them to critically-ill patients as well as to dangerous aerosolizing procedures.

Please join us in celebrating Respiratory Care Week as proclaimed by Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and show your appreciation for the outstanding Michigan Medicine respiratory care staff and the brave work they continue to do every day in support of our patients and families. Thank you for what you do!
