Wednesday, October 21, 2020

12:00pm - 1:00pm

Virtual (Zoom)

In recent years, so-called “fake news” stories have proliferated via social media — in part, because they are so easily and quickly shared online. But how do you know if an online article was concocted on a “troll farm” or a video shared with you on Facebook was doctored? In other words, how do you become a savvy consumer of news? Rick Sykes, professor emeritus of Central Michigan University’s School of Broadcast & Cinematic Arts, discusses how to discern fact from fiction in this enlightening presentation. All are welcome, but please register here to receive the Zoom info prior to this event.
