Color Visions painting exhibition on display at Taubman Center

October 9, 2020  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Ammy Amorette is a self-taught singer and painter based in Michigan for the past five years.

In her visual work, this Chilean artist conjures melodic representations with her brushstrokes. She mixes different techniques, shapes and colors experimentally to generate an original and dynamic expression.

Each work is born from a background of music, which the singer uses to create melodies in fabric and acrylic. Similar to scat in jazz, Amorette occupies the canvas as one more space for vocal improvisation. Various techniques dance in rhythm, and colors, figures and lights mix to capture scenes full of energy, life and joy.
