You’re invited! Join the Quality Month 2020 virtual celebration
While the social distancing efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 prevent the organization from hosting an in-person Quality Month celebration this year, virtual events have been planned throughout October to highlight some of the important quality and safety improvement (QI) work happening across Michigan Medicine.
This year, the plenary sessions highlight the overall theme of social determinants of health and racial inequities in health care.
If you are interested in receiving updates on all Quality Month events, including links to recorded sessions once available, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/yFZhbmHD5n6gvbnd9.
A keynote address, “People, Communities, Quality: Social Determinants of Health and Health Equity” from Jennifer Griggs, M.D., M.P.A. will kick-off a month-long series of learning and sharing events, open to all Michigan Medicine faculty, staff, and learners. Several other plenary sessions are planned throughout the month. A full calendar can be found here.
Every Wednesday in October, a virtual poster session will highlight quality and safety improvement efforts at Michigan Medicine and enable participants to interact with teams who submitted posters for this year’s event. Click here for more information and to find a list of teams who will be presenting.
A series of interactive learning “back to basics” sessions will showcase key QI methods and tools valuable to individuals practicing continuous improvement, including process mapping, data sourcing, and root cause analysis. On Thursdays in October, a CI specialist from Michigan Medicine will guide participants through a brief didactic introduction to an essential topic, a practice activity, and an example of real-life application, while facilitating virtual interaction with fellow learners. Individuals who attend all four sessions will receive a Certificate of Participation.
All events are virtual and will utilize Zoom for interactivity, and the same link will enable access to every event. All information, including the Zoom link can also be found on the Quality Month website. CME credit will likely be available for most of the sessions, more information will be available soon!
Quality Month Learning Activities have been approved for 8.0 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.
