Michigan Medicine switching to paperless billing

September 21, 2020  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Paperless billing is a secure way for patients to receive, view and pay bills from any of our hospitals and health centers online.

This convenient service gives patients a way to actively protect the environment while reducing the inconvenience of clutter and their risk of identity theft and mail fraud.

Beginning Oct. 1, patients enrolled in the MyUofMHealth patient portal will be automatically enrolled in paperless billing unless they choose to continue receiving paper statements by modifying their account settings in MyUofMHealth.

Patients who have already opted out of paperless billing will not be affected, and will continue receiving paper statements.

Patients can log in to MyUofMHealth.org or use the mobile app to get started or update their account settings.

If a patient is not a portal user, they will continue to receive paper bills.

More information about patient billing and online statements is available at https://www.uofmhealth.org/patient-visitor-guide/billing, and clinics are encouraged to post this flier to promote awareness about this important news.
