Workshops: Change management and strategic execution

The Office of Faculty Development will host two workshops for faculty and staff on the topics of change management and strategic execution on Sept. 18.

Change management: Moving from strategy to implementation

After this session participants will be able to:

  • Understand the concept of “change management” and recognition of various change models
  • Identify the role of judgment and critical thinking in the change process
  • Understand the need for alignment of leadership – shared vision
  • Understand “commander’s intent” in change initiatives
  • Develop strategies for managing key stakeholders using models

Time: 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.

Strategic execution: Best practices in implementing strategic initiatives

After this session participants will be able to:

  • Understand the relationship between setting the strategy and implementing the strategy.
  • Assess the readiness of the organization for execution of a strategic initiative.
  • Identify the key uncertainties in order to build agility into the execution plan.
  • Determine the gaps between the current state of the organization and the optimal readiness state of the organization and develop actions to reduce the gaps.
