New M1 medical students start July 27

The 168 members of the matriculating medical student Class of 2020 will begin their journey on July 27 with M1 Launch.

The primarily virtual weeklong orientation will include sessions where the newest medical students will meet U-M Medical School leadership, connect with curriculum and student services teams, meet with their doctoring group, join their M-Home house, and learn about the Office for Health Equity and Inclusion, among other activities.

The M1 year traditionally begins with the White Coat Ceremony at Hill Auditorium; however, that annual event has been postponed until 2021 due to the COVD-19 pandemic.
