Week in Review: Week of June 22, 2020
From Detroit to Chelsea to Ann Arbor and ambulatory clinics across the region, the features in Headlines were all over the map this week. For instance, readers learned about a new hospitalist service the organization launched at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital. A few days earlier, Michigan Medicine outlined details of a new laundry cooperative recently opened in Detroit.

A pathway for patients: Michigan Medicine expands hospital services in Chelsea
Ever since U-M Health entered into a joint venture with St. Joseph Mercy Health at Chelsea Hospital in 2018, Michigan Medicine services have gradually increased in western Washtenaw County. That activity increased even more earlier this month with the debut of Michigan Hospitalist Chelsea Service, allowing the organization’s hospitalists to care for select inpatients at Chelsea Hospital. In partnership with St. Joseph Mercy Health and Henry Ford Health System, Michigan Medicine has opened a cooperative laundry services facility, which will bring immediate and long-term cost savings to all three organizations. New resource launched to help U-M Health System employees safely return to work
With clinical services ramping up, the U-M Health System has published a guide on how employees can safely return to work. The guide, which is designed specifically for the clinical enterprise, will likely be updated as circumstances change over the next few weeks and months.
