Empower U is a leadership and empowerment program designed to build knowledge and skills in adolescents in ways that enable them to succeed. The purpose is to improve self-sufficiency to make choices to manage life adversities more effectively.

The program engages youth ages 11-18, in culturally responsive and interactive workshops on social-emotional learning, job skills and college/trade school preparation.

Empower U is an initiative of the Program for Multicultural Health, part of Community Health Services (CHS) at Michigan Medicine. It is currently funded by CHS and collaborative partners include the Parkridge Community Center, Pathways to Success Academic Campus and Community Family Life Center. United Way of Washtenaw County was the initial funder of the program.
