Cast your ballot for U-M police panel non-union staff representative
The election for a non-bargained for staff member to serve a two-year term on the U-M Police Department Oversight Committee is now underway.
Staff members who are not union members are eligible to vote. University Human Resources is coordinating the election.
The Police Department Oversight Committee includes two students, two faculty members (one Senate and one non-Senate), and two staff members (one union and one non-union), who are nominated and elected by their peers for two-year terms.
The committee reviews and makes recommendations regarding grievances against any police officer or the U-M Police Department. It reports its findings and recommendations to the Executive Director, Division of Public Safety and Security.
