Rise up: Music therapists offer tribute to Michigan Medicine faculty and staff
Over the past few months, both work and personal life has been upended in every way. From new places to work (either at home or on different units at the academic medical center), to new processes and procedures (such as Zoom meetings and virtual visits with patients), everyone has had to step up and adapt.
To salute all who are making an impact during this uncertain time, the music therapists at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital put together a heartfelt musical tribute.
The video, which can be viewed above, involves the therapists singing and playing instruments, and also includes spoken messages from pediatric patients, child life specialists and other Michigan Medicine team members who sent in video clips.
“Our hope was to create a video that contains uplifting messages to promote positivity, express gratitude and document this unprecedented time in history,” said Emma Wymer, a music therapist at Mott. “This is just one small way we can say ‘thank you’ to those who have put themselves at risk or made sacrifices in order to protect patients, colleagues and community members.”
