Plan ahead and expect delays: Road work around Ann Arbor

Please be advised of road work scheduled to take place around Ann Arbor.

Plan ahead and expect delays and alert patients if they will be traveling in the area. Here’s what you need to know:

  • From today until Wednesday, May 20, Washington Street at the intersection of First Street is scheduled to be closed to traffic.
    • Westbound Washington Street traffic will be detoured southbound on Main Street to westbound on Liberty Street to northbound on Third Street back to Washington Street.
    • Eastbound traffic will be detoured southbound on Third Street to eastbound on Liberty? Street to northbound on Ashley Street back to Washington Street.
    • Local traffic will be maintained between Third and First streets and between First and Main streets.
    • Pedestrian through-traffic will always be maintained on one side of the street.?
  • From today through Thursday, May 21, Fourth Avenue from Huron to Ann is expected to be closed to through traffic for paving work.
    • Southbound Fourth Avenue traffic will be detoured eastbound on Ann Street to southbound on Fifth Avenue, westbound on Huron Street to South Fourth Avenue. 
    • Northbound traffic will be detoured westbound on Huron Street, northbound on Main Street, eastbound on Ann Street back to North Fourth Avenue.
    • Pedestrian through-traffic will always be maintained on one side of the street. 
  • From Thursday, May 21 until Saturday, May 30, Liberty Street is scheduled to be closed at the intersection of First Street to allow water main connection construction. 
    • Westbound Liberty Street traffic will be detoured southbound on Main Street to westbound on William Street to northbound on Second Street back to Liberty Street.
    • Eastbound Liberty traffic will be detoured southbound on Second Street to eastbound on William Street to northbound on Ashley Street back to Liberty Street. Local traffic will be maintained between Second Street and First Street and between First Street and Main Street.
    • Pedestrian through-traffic will be maintained on one side of the street at all times.
