NEW TODAY: Here’s the latest information about Michigan Medicine’s management of the COVID-19 pandemic:

DAILY PATIENT STATS

Today’s census for COVID-19 inpatients and those patients under investigation (PUI) are noted below: 

Discharges: 408 total COVID-19 discharges to date, 1 in the last 24 hours.  These numbers include patients discharged to skilled nursing facilities but excludes deaths and discharges to hospice.

Deaths and Hospice: Since March 10, Michigan Medicine hospitals have had 81 total deaths or discharges to hospice, 0 in the last 24 hours. Total death and hospice numbers will be reported on Mondays.

DAILY TEAM MEMBER TESTING STATS*

* Data from 3/10 through 5/4. The testing stats reflect just Michigan Medicine employees, not all University of Michigan employees. It also reflects only those who sought testing at or were hospitalized at Michigan Medicine or reported their testing to Occupational Health Services. Some Michigan Medicine employees may have been tested outside our system.

NO CHANGES TO VISITOR POLICY

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer renewed her executive order concerning hospital visitor restrictions yesterday, but the provisions did not change. Michigan Medicine’s visitor restrictions have not changed and can be accessed here.

PPE TRAINING SCHEDULE CHANGE

PPE training for the month of May will continue in the Towsley Center Lobby, but will now be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This training includes continuous demonstrations and Q & A.

SHUTTLE SERVICE UPDATE

University shuttle services – including Emergency Ride Home, Ride Home, State Street Ride, Paratransit, and Michigan Medicine’s East Ann Arbor Employee Parking and Late Night Shuttles – will transition from Blue Car to a new provider, Golden Limousine, effective Monday, June 1.  Additional details, including how to access services, will be shared prior to June 1 and updated at ltp.umich.edu.  

Please note that some services currently on hold due to COVID-19 may still remain on hold after June 1.
