Temporary Housing Program announced for employees providing patient care services

Michigan Medicine continues to look at ways to keep faculty and staff safe during the current COVID-19 pandemic. One such way is in providing temporary housing to employees who provide patient care services in the case of respite, quarantine/self-isolation related to COVID-19. Lodging can also be used if an employee has been exposed to COVID-19 positive patients during care delivery and have immunocompromised family members at home.

Lodging will be provided in designated on-campus and commercial locations that have space available. Employees will not be charged for use of the temporary housing, but will responsible for any incidental expenses. And they can book accommodations for up to 14 days at a time. If more time is needed, employees may resubmit for additional nights.

Supervisors/managers must approve and submit the lodging request form for their employees.

Confirmation of a reservation assignment will be returned within two to four hours after the request is made. It may be longer based on volume. Lodging will be assigned based on availability and any special accommodations should be requested at the time of booking.

The reservation office will be open daily from 8 a.m.-10 p.m.
