Radiation dosimeters due

April 1, 2020  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Monthly and quarterly radiation dosimeters (“badges”) are due for exchange today, April 1.

If you have not yet done so, please return your March (or first quarter) dosimetry to your departmental dosimetry contact and retrieve your April (or second quarter) dosimetry. The wear period is indicated on the front and back of the dosimeter.

If your department is operating under reduced staffing (due to COVID-19) and your departmental dosimetry contact is unable to exchange your dosimetry, you should continue to wear your March (or first quarter) dosimetry until you receive your new dosimetry.

On-time return of dosimetry enables timely reporting of results and improves departmental compliance with university policy and the Michigan Medicine dosimetry policy (via PolicyStat).

Dosimetry results are sent to each department shortly after receipt from the dosimetry processor; if you wish to review your dosimetry results, see your departmental dosimetry contact or dosimetry supervisor. To confidentially access your dosimetry results using the serial number on the back of your badge, follow these instructions.

If you have questions about radiation dosimetry, see the link below or contact the U-M Radiation Safety Service at 734-764-4294.
