Parking and transportation update

Parking is a significant issue at Michigan Medicine, and the organization is constantly investing both time and resources to make parking and transportation safer, faster and more convenient for employees and patients alike.

To keep you informed, Michigan Medicine will share routine updates that outline changes or resources available to employees designed to improve the work experience.

East Ann Arbor lot improvements

In the coming months, Michigan Medicine plans to improve the condition and safety of the East Ann Arbor parking experience at EC1 by creating a paved lot adjacent to the current gravel lot. The new paved lot will make parking in EC1 easier and more convenient for employees.

The lot provides employees with a free parking option that is serviced by a shuttle that takes employees directly to and from the academic medical center.

Service begins from the EC1 lot at 3:20 a.m. on Monday mornings and ends at 5 a.m. on Saturday mornings. The shuttles pick up parkers from bus shelters located in the EC1 parking lot and drop them off at their parked cars after daylight hours.

Reminder: Michigan Medicine Late Night Shuttle from Taubman

The Late Night service provides transportation in dedicated shuttles from the University Hospital/Taubman Health Center entrance to Northeast commuter lots between 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday through Friday (last pick-up Saturday at 5 a.m.).

Please note that the service area for the Late Night shuttle includes Green Road park-and-ride, Plymouth Road park-and-ride and other north campus lots near the North Campus Research Complex (please see graphic at right). 

Parkers requiring return transportation to lots along Fuller Road, Glazier Way or other areas outside of this service area should plan to use university bus service or, when needed, other late night options including Ride Home or Emergency Ride Home (https://ltp.umich.edu/campus-transit/after-hours/).
