March 17 – Daily COVID-19 Update

March 17, 2020  //  FOUND IN: Announcements

NEW THIS MORNING: Here’s the latest information about Michigan Medicine’s management of the COVID-19 pandemic:

COVID-19 Hotline for Michigan Medicine Patients

Michigan Medicine has opened a hotline for established adult Michigan Medicine patients with questions about symptoms, home management, whether medical treatment is required and what specific steps they should follow to receive care or testing.

The hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week only for patients and employees of Michigan Medicine. The number is 734-763-6336.

People who are not Michigan Medicine patients should contact their primary care provider or their local health department.

Please advise patients not to call the hotline unless they or a loved one is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. Questions not related to COVID-19 symptoms can be directed to your health provider clinic. Our clinics are staffed and able to respond.

Expanded Virtual Care Options for Michigan Medicine Patients

Michigan Medicine providers are expanding access to E-Visits and Video Visits to allow existing patients to continue receiving regular care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Provider offices are contacting some patients to transition scheduled appointments to Video Visit format, and select new appointments may be scheduled as Video Visits.

In addition, we are expanding the types of care available through our E-Visit offerings.

Michigan Medicine Curbside Screening and Specimen Collection

Beginning today, curbside screenings and specimen collection for testing will be available at our West Ann Arbor, Canton and Brighton locations for patients that have been triaged through our hotline. Patients cannot just drive up without calling first. After a screening assessment, samples will be obtained while people are in their cars.

Still have questions?

An FAQ is posted in Headlines and updated frequently. If you have specific questions about COVID19 and your work at Michigan Medicine, go to the Infection Prevention & Epidemiology page for updates.

If you still can’t find what you’re looking for on these web pages, please email and your question will be answered as quickly as possible.  Do not use this email for sharing patient health information.

Planning for COVID-19 impact remains is the organization’s main goal. Thanks for all you do to make employee and patient safety our top priority.
