Week in Review: Week of Feb. 10, 2020
It’s Valentine’s Day! And that’s quite appropriate, as this week Headlines focused on the heart, with a closer look at the daily life of cardiac sonographer Amanda Bielec, and a look back at Go Red Day. Faculty and staff also showed the love to the colleagues who they consider to be superstars and MVPs in their areas of the organization.

A Day in the Life: Amanda Bielec, cardiac sonographer
Every day, cardiac sonographers at the Frankel Cardiovascular Center perform a variety of heart ultrasounds on up to 100 patients. To learn more about this important role, and how it helps in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease, read through a day in the life of Amanda Bielec, who has been assisting patients and families at Michigan Medicine for the past 15 years.
More than a color: ‘Go Red’ Day raises awareness of heart disease in women
Last week, faculty and staff across the organization participated in Go Red Day. It was highly-visible way to raise awareness of heart disease, which causes one in every three deaths in women.
