On Tuesday, Feb. 11, Michigan Medicine will host a live online chat focusing on metabolic syndrome, which is a group of health conditions that increase your risk for heart attack, stroke, heart failure and diabetes.

The event is titled “Metabolic syndrome: A dangerous combination of risk factors,” and will feature a Michigan Medicine cardiologist and gastroenterologist. The experts will talk about what metabolic syndrome means and how obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and liver disease play a role in diagnosis.

Treatment involves lifestyle modification, and the panel includes a patient who had success in making changes to improve her health through treatment. She will share what she learned and how she overcame challenges and obstacles.

Check it out for yourself on a number of Michigan Medicine social media channels from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.!
